The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves scores with a nice strike.
Sakamoto looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Alves connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Alves clinches with his opponent.

Sakamoto breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A head kick misses from Sakamoto.
Alves lands with a straight right. Sakamoto didn't see that one coming.
Alves misses with a double jab.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sakamoto.
Sakamoto closes this distance looking for a takedown but Alves circles away.

Alves wants to break free but Sakamoto has control.

Alves throws and low kick but Sakamoto moves out of range easily.
Alves misses with a two punch combination.
Sakamoto walks into a straight right hand from Alves.
Alves cracks Sakamoto with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Alves is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Sakamoto had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Nice defenses there by Alves.
The crowd cheers as Alves lands an impressive looking overhand right. Sakamoto doesn't seem phased though.

Alves slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Sakamoto is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Alves.

Alves dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Sakamoto takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Oh Sakamoto is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Alves drops Sakamoto with a big left hand! Sakamoto is injured, injured bad! Alves jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!
