Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Manuel Padilla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pesho Talpata!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Alyssa Summers and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Talpata looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Talpata is looking to work some ground and pound but Padilla has wrist control.

Talpata must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Talpata feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Padilla wants to stand up but Talpata is controlling him.

I looks like Talpata might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Padilla controls Talpata momentarily but Talpata frees himself.
Talpata connects with a couple of short punches.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Talpata's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Talpata working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Padilla's head.
Padilla wants to stand and escape but Talpata is having none of it.
Talpata not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

It looks like Pesho Talpata has been cut.
Manuel Padilla seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Talpata drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Padilla managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Talpata.
Talpata wants to control but Padilla is keeping him busy.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Talpata controlling from side mount.
Talpata throwing strikes but Padilla manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pesho Talpata dominated that round.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Talpata takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Padilla lunges at Talpata with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Talpata's hand.
Padilla lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Talpata circles away quickly and effectively.
Padilla throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Talpata.
Padilla lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Talpata has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Padilla finds it's way round the side to connect with Talpata's head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Talpata fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Talpata takes one to the chin there.
Padilla misses with a jab, cross combination.

Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Padilla throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Talpata is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Manuel Padilla!
