PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between San Cou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Prezime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, San Cou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mario Prezime!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cou closes the distance and pushes Prezime back into the cage.
Cou tries to circle away but Prezime has him pinned against the cage.

Prezime is trying to trip Cou. He has hold of a leg but Cou is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Prezime persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Prezime throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cou works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cou utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Prezime wants to stand but Cou has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Prezime decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Prezime fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Cou looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Cou moves into range and clinches up with Prezime.
Cou wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Prezime has him pressed against the cage.
Cou jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Prezime walks away with a smile on his face. Cou gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Prezime moves into the clinch.

Prezime pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Cou clinches.
Prezime prevents Cou from breaking the clinch.

Cou scores with a jab. Prezime acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Cou fails in his attempt to clinch.

Cou lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Cou.

Cou misses with a looping right.
Cou tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Prezime paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cou catches Prezime with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Cou swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cou thuds his right hand into Prezime's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
San Cou is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Prezime fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cou avoids it really well and circles away.
Cou tests Prezime's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Prezime clinches up with Cou and pushes him back against the cage.

Prezime escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cou fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Cou moves into range and clinches up with Prezime.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Prezime manages to break the clinch.

Prezime tries to keep at a distance but Cou has taken the fight into the clinch.
Prezime tries for a takedown. No joy.

Cou is working for takedown but Prezime is calmly controlling the position for now.

Cou pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Prezime throws a sloppy head kick and Cou moves out of range easily.

and Prezime counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cou!

Cou defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Prezime.
Cou is breathing heavily.
Prezime tries to control but Cou wriggling away.
Cou's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Prezime throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Cou is trying to stand.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Prezime throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Cou because Prezime loaded up on that one.

and Prezime counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Cou is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Mario Prezime showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Prezime changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cou looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Prezime is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Cou's shoulder. That is not cool.

Prezime breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Prezime goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

and Prezime makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Cou really felt that one!

Prezime shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Cou napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Cou is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
