The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fedorov leaves Oars with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Fedorov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Fedorov lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Oars swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

That was a close round but I would say that Andrey Fedorov will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Garland Oars seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oars tries to keep at a distance but Fedorov has taken the fight into the clinch.
Oars jumps into guard, dragging Fedorov to the mat.
Oars is looking for a triangle but Fedorov pushes his legs off easily.
Oars has an active guard here but Fedorov has managed to pass into half guard.
Fedorov lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Fedorov is looking to take a break and control but Oars is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fedorov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Oars with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Oars scores with a few weak punches.
Oars makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Oars.
Oars working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fedorov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fedorov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Oars has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Oars has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Fedorov doesn't defend quickly enough and Oars has managed to lock this one up! Can Fedorov escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Oars on a fantastic submission victory.
