The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santiero lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pawn circles away quickly and effectively.
Pawn closes the distance and clinches up with Santiero, looking for a takedown. Pawn pushes Santiero against the cage but Santiero circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Santiero shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pawn is trying to defend but Santiero finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pawn is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Santiero still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Santiero has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
