Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rice Pilaf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nolan Sackett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pilaf comes to the cage accompanied by chinese rap. Sackett has chosen Bad To the Bone as his entrance music. Nolan Sackett has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rice Pilaf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nolan Sackett!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pilaf keeps the fight on the outside.
Sackett connects with a single shot there.

Pilaf has taken the fight to the clinch.
Pilaf is looking to break free of the clinch but Sackett has double underhooks.
Pilaf gets through Sackett's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Sackett is pushing Pilaf up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Sackett breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pilaf doesn't manage to clinch there - Sackett circles away.
Sackett ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sackett fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sackett blocks a head kick by Pilaf.
Pilaf lands a right hook to the body.
A swing and a miss from Sackett.
Pilaf throws a hook but Sackett avoids it easily.
Sackett looks to land a right hand but Pilaf moved out of range.
Sackett connects with a jab.
A decent looking cross lands there for Pilaf.

Sackett tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Pilaf counters with a right hand to the body.
Sackett fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sackett throws an overhand right that lands on Pilaf's shoulder, as Pilaf tries to avoid the shot.

Sackett closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sackett taking a break here but Pilaf is having none of it and regains half guard.
Pilaf is looking for a sweep. Sackett is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sackett seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Sackett has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Sackett misses with a head shot. Pilaf uses the momentum to regain guard.
Sackett throws a strike but Pilaf rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Pilaf advances to half guard.
Pilaf trying to mount his opponent but Sackett defends it.
Sackett trying to control but Pilaf postures up.
Pilaf is pressing down on Sackett's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sackett is holding on for now.
Pilaf prevents Sackett from improving his position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sackett is refusing to be controlled, as Pilaf sits in half guard.
Sackett gets full guard.
Sackett keeping moving, preventing Pilaf from controlling successfully.
Sackett seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Pilaf pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sackett is keeping the position for now.
Pilaf loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nolan Sackett dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Pilaf throws a hook but Sackett blocks it.

Pilaf ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

and Pilaf counters with a nice uppercut.
Sackett loads up on a big right hand but Pilaf slips the punch.
Sackett uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pilaf.
Sackett darts in trying to clinch
and Pilaf counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
A slow jab from Pilaf misses its intended target.
Pilaf goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Sackett throws a big shot that misses.
Nolan Sackett is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Pilaf darts in and clinches Sackett up against the cage.
A short left from Pilaf.
Pilaf throws a punch but it's blocked by Sackett.
Sackett has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Pilaf avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Rice Pilaf has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nolan Sackett.

Sackett has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pilaf is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Sackett is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pilaf pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Sackett is breathing heavily.
Sackett has had enough of the clinch but Pilaf keeps him there for the moment.
Pilaf is trying to break the clinch but Sackett is controlling him.
Sackett drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Sackett lands a right hand that snaps the head of Pilaf backwards.

Pilaf escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pilaf throws a series of strikes that have Sackett backpedaling.
Sackett misses with a looping left.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pilaf lands a lovely overhand right.
Pilaf ducks right into an uppercut from Sackett.
Pilaf sizes up Sackett with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Sackett shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Pilaf cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pilaf drops Sackett with a big left hand! Sackett is injured, injured bad! Pilaf jumps in and finished him with strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rice Pilaf!
