Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Rice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hadou The Punisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rice comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - Thunderstruck. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steve Rice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hadou The Punisher!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rice tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but The Punisher was well out of range. Poor timing from Rice.
Rice tries to clinch up.
The Punisher fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Rice moves into the clinch.

The Punisher gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Rice tries to kick The Punisher off but The Punisher keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The Punisher is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The Punisher with the ground and pound but Rice uses the opportunity to regain guard.
The Punisher missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Rice keeping moving, preventing The Punisher from controlling successfully.
Rice is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst The Punisher is controlling him.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The Punisher stands up and waves to Rice to follow him.
The Punisher changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rice tries to avoid it but The Punisher manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rice to the ground. Rice escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rice comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The Punisher changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rice fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Steve Rice has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hadou The Punisher.

Rice takes the fight into the clinch.
Rice lands a left hand.
The Punisher is working for takedown but Rice is calmly controlling the position for now.

Rice pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Rice pushes The Punisher up against the cage in a clinch.

Rice breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The Punisher shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rice as he avoids it easily.

Rice has closed the distance and engaged The Punisher in a clinch.
Rice throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
The Punisher looks gassed!

The Punisher has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Rice is trying to keep an underhook but The Punisher manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rice pushes The Punisher off looking to stand but The Punisher dives back in and keeps control.

Rice has one foot on The Punisher's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Rice lands the left hand.

Rice clinches up with The Punisher and pushes him back against the cage.
Rice lands a body punch in the clinch.

Rice pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
The Punisher shoots in but Rice avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Rice clinches up with The Punisher and pushes him back against the cage.

Rice manages to break the clinch.
Rice stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rice wants it to stay on the feet.
The Punisher checks a low kick from Rice.

Rice gets a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rice prevents the takedown attempt.

Rice pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Rice instigates a clinch.

Rice escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Rice has closed the distance and engaged The Punisher in a clinch.

Rice breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Rice pushes The Punisher up against the cage in a clinch.
Rice just leaning against The Punisher, taking a breather.
Rice lands a body punch in the clinch.

Rice's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rice throws a nice looking combination but The Punisher bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rice rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but The Punisher moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hadou The Punisher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rice clinches.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
The Punisher looking for a takedown.

Rice breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nice body punch from Rice.

Rice rushes The Punisher and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Rice breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rice is looking to clinch.
The Punisher will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Rice fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rice dips to his left and cracks The Punisher with an uppercut!
Rice defends well against a solid takedown attempt from The Punisher.

The Punisher has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Rice works over The Punisher's head and body with a nice combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rice throws a head kick but The Punisher moves out of range.
Rice throws a series of strikes that have The Punisher backpedaling.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rice throws out a leg kick but The Punisher moves out of range and Rice only half commits.
A shot to de liver by Rice. Beautiful body shot.
The Punisher misses with a takedown attempt - Rice sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rice throws a right and a left that both miss.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Steve Rice dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Rice gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Rice breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rice tries to close the distance and clinch up but The Punisher swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The Punisher dodges the punch combination from Rice.
A nice combination there by Rice.


The Punisher is rocked!
Rice dances in with a quick combination. The Punisher is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Rice snaps The Punisher's head back. The Punisher stumbles backwards against the cage. Rice steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with The Punisher's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. The Punisher just didn't come prepared.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Steve Rice!
