Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shiro Sage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juancho Calabaza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Shiro Sage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Juancho Calabaza!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calabaza thows a body shot but no joy.
Sage lands a lovely overhand right.
Calabaza tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sage paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Calabaza shoots for a double leg takedown but Sage sprawls well. He's pushed Calabaza's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sage throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Calabaza's head.


It looks like Juancho Calabaza has been cut.
Sage tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sage wants to clinch but Calabaza slips to the side

and Calabaza counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Calabaza wants to pass the guard but Sage is keeping the position.

Calabaza drops back looking for a leg! Sage is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sage manages to kick Calabaza off! Calabaza jumps back into Sage's guard.

Calabaza drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sage looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sage looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sage!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sage controlling the position from side mount.
Sage is trying to ground and pound but Calabaza uses the momentary lack of control by Sage to regain half guard.
Sage is trying to control the action in half guard but Calabaza is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Sage stands up and beckons Calabaza to join him on the feet.
Calabaza fails with an attempt to clinch.
Calabaza fails in his attempt to clinch.
Sage scores with a three punch combo!
Sage clinches but Calabaza breaks the clinch

and Calabaza moves into the clinch.
Calabaza changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sage fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Sage tries a head kick but it misses.
Sage goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Sage closes the distance but Calabaza moves to the side

and Calabaza counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Sage!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Calabaza working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Sage squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Calabaza jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sage is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sage and Calabaza has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Calabaza looks gassed!
Sage is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sage is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Sage wants to get back to his feet.
Sage trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Calabaza seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shiro Sage dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Juancho Calabaza's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Good leg kick by Sage there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Calabaza is looking to clinch but Sage is avoiding it.
Sage throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Calabaza wants to clinch.
Sage throws a quick inside leg kick.
Sage plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Calabaza tries to clinch up but Sage circles away and keeps his distance.
Sage with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sage drops Calabaza with a beautiful combination! Calabaza stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Sage is looking for the KO!
Calabaza loses concentration momentarily and Sage pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Calabaza crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Sage finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Shiro Sage!
