The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carwin has closed the distance and engaged Nutz in a clinch.
Nutz tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Carwin just stands there and leans against the cage.
Nutz wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Nutz fails to pull guard.
Nutz tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Carwin smiles and moves away.
Shane Carwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Nutz.
Nutz tries to score a power double leg takedown but Carwin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nutz somewhat.

Carwin clinches.

It looks like Johnny Nutz has been cut.
Come on Carwin - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Nutz is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Carwin drops Nutz onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Nutz is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Carwin has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Nutz uses from the top position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Carwin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nutz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Nutz tries to keep at a distance but Carwin has taken the fight into the clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Carwin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nutz swivels though and keeps the full guard.
