PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cheik Congo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koenraad Vandenhoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Congo comes to the ring accompanied by Down With The Sickness. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cheik Congo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Koenraad Vandenhoff!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vandenhoff throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Congo's waist but Congo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vandenhoff off to one side.

Vandenhoff feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Vandenhoff working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Vandenhoff is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Congo is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Congo has escaped and now he's on top!

Congo trying to control the position from guard on top but Vandenhoff is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Congo has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Vandenhoff to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Congo is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Vandenhoff pulls down on the head and he's put Congo to sleep! This one is all over!
