PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between jim jim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Laarj Dong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dong has chosen I Got Love as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
jim ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dong moves away.

jim gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dong to score an easy takedown into full guard.
jim tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dong throws a big right hand that misses.
jim is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Dong throws and elbow that misses. jim uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dong's guard. Nice move by jim!

Dong has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but jim can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Dong controls jim momentarily but jim frees himself.
Dong seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

jim stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dong swivels though and keeps the full guard.

jim stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dong swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dong is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

jim wants to control from the top but Dong keeps moving.
jim might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

jim has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dong avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Dong thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed jim's head.
Dong is looking to advance position but jim won't allow it.

jim rushes Dong and presses him up against the cage.
Dong on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Dong drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dong jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
jim wants to sweep here but Dong controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

jim swings and misses with a hook to the body.

jim tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dong swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Dong is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in jim's half guard.
Dong is trying to control the action in half guard but jim is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

jim wants to control but Dong is keeping busy and won't allow it.
jim knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dong on the ground.

jim regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Dong.
Dong stands up over jim, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Dong looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Dong wants to lay and pray for a moment but jim keeps working.
Dong works his way into side control.
Dong in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Dong wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by jim, who protects the arm well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Laarj Dong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dong connects with a nice short shot to jim's temple.
