Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ima Turtle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Ima Turtle has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Ima Turtle seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aldo shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Turtle regains full guard. Nicely done.

Turtle looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Turtle is breathing heavily.

Turtle is looking for a triangle here but Aldo uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Aldo is staying tight to Turtle's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Aldo has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Aldo looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Turtle drops back, looking for a kneebar! Aldo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Aldo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Aldo!

Turtle is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Aldo off and has taken his back!

Turtle working for a choke but Aldo reverses nicely into Turtle 's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Turtle is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Aldo is aware though and is defending well.

Turtle is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Aldo jumps into side control!

Turtle misses with a takedown

and Aldo counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Aldo must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Turtle throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Aldo escapes and throws Turtle's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Turtle tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Aldo presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Aldo has the hooks in. Turtle is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Turtle rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are battling for position here. Turtle manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Jake Aldo has got the better of the ground game so far.

Aldo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Turtle looks to move to half guard but instead Aldo has passed into mount! Damn!

Turtle tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Aldo has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Turtle is wriggling around trying to escape.
Turtle regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Aldo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Turtle with a poor takedown

and Aldo counters with a single leg into guard. Turtle didn't expect that.

Turtle is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Aldo is aware though and is defending well.

Turtle has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Aldo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Turtle.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Turtle is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Aldo is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Turtle is in all sorts of trouble here.

Turtle postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Aldo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Turtle, into his guard.

Turtle had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Aldo defends it easily.

Turtle looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Aldo passes into side control.
Turtle is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Aldo off and has taken his back!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Turtle working for a choke but Aldo is defending well.

Turtle looking to break Aldo's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Aldo remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Turtle will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Jake Aldo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Aldo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
