Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jake Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and lyndon jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). jones has chosen i'm not afraid as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shields keeps the fight on the outside.
jones buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Shields walks forward, straight into a front kick from jones.
jones fails in his attempt to clinch.
jones dives in and grabs Shields's left leg, looking for a takedown. Shields pushes down on jones's head and hops out.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from jones is defended easily by Shields.
jones tries to clinch but Shields is having none of it.
A head kick from jones lands but Shields takes it in his stride.
jones tries to close the distance and clinch but Shields swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
jones connects with a high kick.

You can see the frustration on jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Shields connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused jones some visible discomfort.
jones takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Shields is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. jones is trying to escape and Shields transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and jones is forced to tap! Nice work there by Shields! Very nice indeed!
