Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rudy Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and short McGee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rudy Dog has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rudy Dog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, short McGee!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGee throws a right hand that Dog ducks under and follows up with a left that Dog also avoids with ease.
McGee misses with a series of wild punches.

Dog shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Dog is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Dog trying to control but McGee is working from the bottom.
McGee wants to stand up but Dog is controlling him.
Dog trying to control the position from guard on top but McGee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dog looking to sit in guard and control but McGee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

McGee must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Dog has McGee pulled in close to control his posture.
McGee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dog. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dog manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Dog sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Dog can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McGee is looking to escape.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Rudy Dog just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
McGee scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Rudy Dog has been cut.
Dog takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Dog shoots in looking for a takedown. McGee tries to sprawl out of it but Dog keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McGee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Dog is breathing heavily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from McGee.

Danga de danga de dang - McGee scores with a four punch combination!
McGee throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dog's waist but Dog gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McGee off to one side.
Dog is on the wrong end of a nice combination from McGee.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

McGee fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Dog, pushing him back against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on McGee's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Dog tries for a takedown. No joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rudy Dog. That's going to take a lot out of him.

McGee pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Dog slips a jab and a cross from McGee.
McGee lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dog circles away quickly and effectively.
McGee rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dog moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McGee will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

No joy there for McGee, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McGee misses with a two punch combination.
McGee looks to land a combination but Dog avoids it well.
McGee lands with a nice combination. Dog backs away looking to recover.


Rudy Dog's cut is getting worse.
McGee rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dog moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McGee misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dog shoots in but no luck this time.
McGee lunges at Dog with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Dog's hand.
Dog is on the wrong end of a nice combination from McGee.
McGee is working the combinations to good effect here.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McGee connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Dog tries to clinch but McGee moves away
and McGee counters with a one-two to the body.
McGee throws a right hand that Dog ducks under and follows up with a left that Dog also avoids with ease.

Dog takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Dog showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from McGee.
McGee throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

McGee lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Dog swings away with a leg kick that misses.
McGee connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Dog has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Dog there as he acknowledges the shot.
Rudy Dog is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
McGee rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dog moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

McGee tries to bum rush Dog with a series of wild strikes but Dog uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
McGee dips to his left and cracks Dog with an uppercut!
Dog misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

McGee throws a nice looking combination but Dog bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

McGee shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dog pinned against the cage. Dog gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Dog closes the distance and clinches up with McGee, looking for a takedown. Dog pushes McGee against the cage but McGee circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
McGee throws a right and a left that both miss.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


McGee ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

McGee moves into the clinch successfully.
McGee has had enough of the clinch but Dog keeps him there for the moment.
Dog fails to pull guard.
Dog tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McGee just stands there and leans against the cage.

McGee breaks from the clinch.
McGee shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Dog sprawls well. Dog wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McGee gets slowly back to his feet.
McGee looks to land a combination but Dog avoids it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McGee swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
No luck with that takedown attempt from McGee.
Dog tries a head kick but it misses.
Dog avoids a punch combination nicely.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Dog misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McGee misses with a jab, cross combination.

McGee gets caught flat footed, as Dog shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
McGee keeping moving, preventing Dog from controlling successfully.
Dog is really struggling to control McGee but he's trying to hold on to the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGee can do anything to dispel that myth.

McGee wants to stand and escape but Dog is having none of it.
Dog stopping the sweep attempt from McGee.
Dog prevents McGee from getting back to his feet.
McGee wants to sweep here but Dog controlling him for the moment.

McGee is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dog is controlling him.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Dog looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
McGee stuffs the takedown attempt from Dog. Dog gets slowly back to his feet.
