Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Patrik Smythe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smythe comes to the cage accompanied by 10 000 Fists by Disturbed. Gracie is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Streight Up Menace. Patrik Smythe looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Trevor Gratis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie keeps the fight on the outside.
Smythe misses with an uppercut. Gracie saw that one coming.
Smythe throws a right and a left that both miss.

Gracie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Gracie really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smythe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gracie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Smythe knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gracie connects with a nice short shot to Smythe's temple.
Gracie slips a nice elbow through Smythe's hands, connecting with Smythe's forehead.
Smythe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Smythe doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.
Gracie works his foot free and advances to mount.

Gracie darts in and clinches Smythe up against the cage.

Gracie is trying to trip Smythe. He has hold of a leg but Smythe is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Gracie persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Smythe drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gracie looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gracie looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gracie!

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Smythe knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gracie cracks Smythe with a big right hand but Smythe just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smythe takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Gracie closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smythe to the mat! Smythe manages to get full guard.
