Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Knife (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dani Legrange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Legrange has chosen White Rabbit as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Knife!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dani Legrange!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Legrange stuffs the takedown attempt from Knife. Knife gets slowly back to his feet.

Legrange closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Legrange leaning his opponent against the cage.
Legrange tries to land knees in the clinch but Knife avoids the damage to the body.
Legrange tries to land a knee to the head but Knife blocks with his arms.
Legrange gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Knife.
Legrange connects with a knee to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Legrange throws a knee to the head but misses.
Knife goes for a takedown in the clinch but Legrange prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jim Knife. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Knife gets a trip takedown into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Knife is looking for a kimura but Legrange is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Knife to get the leverage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Legrange can do anything to dispel that myth.

Knife is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Legrange really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Knife. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Knife is trying to control the action in half guard but Legrange is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Knife is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Legrange is just riding it out for now. Knife eventually gives up the hold.
Legrange trying to get back to full guard but Knife takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Knife prevents Legrange from getting the reversal.
Knife wants to control the pace but Legrange is squirming around nicely.

Knife is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Legrange is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Legrange flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Knife anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Legrange and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Knife slips an arm under Legrange chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Knife has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Knife is squeezing on Legrange like an anaconda would it's prey. Legrange fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jim Knife!
