Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Baal throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Baal throws out a loose jab but Griffin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Triston Baal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circling - Baal throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Baal punishes Griffin's body with a nice straight punch.
Griffin throws a leg kick which misses Baal's front leg but catches the back leg as Baal tries to avoid it.
Baal looks to throw the jab but Griffin is out of range.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Baal throws a looping overhand right but Griffin ducks down to avoid it.
Baal missing with a left hand there. Griffin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Griffin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Baal sprawls well initially but Griffin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Griffin wants to take a breather but Baal is having none of it.

Baal throws an overhand right that lands on Griffin's shoulder, as Griffin tries to avoid the shot.
Baal stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Baal wants it to stay on the feet.
Baal missing with a left hand there. Griffin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Baal keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Griffin moves away from the strike by Baal.

Baal gets caught flat footed, as Griffin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

No luck for Griffin with that takedown attempt.
Triston Baal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Peter Griffin.
Baal throws a lazy right hand but Griffin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Griffin scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Griffin moves out of range of the strikes.
Griffin lands with a thumping leg kick.
Triston Baal is winning the standup battle so far.
Griffin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Baal looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Baal swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Baal swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Griffin fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Griffin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Baal's guard.
Griffin slips nicely into half guard.
Griffin scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Griffin passes the guard and advances to mount!
Griffin tries to control but Baal wriggling away.

Baal is desperately trying to improve his position but Griffin has a good base and remains in mount.

Baal gets back to half guard.
Griffin looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Griffin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Griffin trying to mount his opponent but Baal defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Griffin is looking for a kimura but Baal is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Griffin to get the leverage.

Griffin passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Baal!

Baal is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
BOOM! Griffin connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Griffin jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Baal is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Baal and Griffin has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Griffin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Baal has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Baal tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Griffin throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Baal sneaks back into half guard.

Griffin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Baal is looking to get back to full guard here but Griffin has managed to pass to side control instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Griffin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Griffin dips to his left and cracks Baal with an uppercut!
Griffin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Nice defenses there by Griffin.
Griffin uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Baal.
Baal misses the jab.
Baal swings away with a body shot that misses
and Griffin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Baal is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Baal throws a jab but it's blocked by Griffin.
Nice defenses there by Griffin.
Baal misses with a body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Griffin moves away from the strike by Baal.
Baal avoids the body shot from Griffin.
Baal tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Griffin was well out of range. Poor timing from Baal.
Baal gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Baal throws a jab but it's blocked by Griffin.
Griffin keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Baal.
Griffin throws the left hand but Baal avoids the punch easily.
Baal shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Griffin as he jumps to the side.
Griffin shoots in but no luck this time.

Griffin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Baal is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Griffin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Baal keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Baal avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Griffin.
Baal controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Griffin landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Baal tries to get to full guard but Griffin has control of the leg.
Griffin wants to advance to full mount but Baal doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Griffin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Baal swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Griffin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Baal dives on top into guard.
Baal works over Griffin with some ground and pound from guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Baal is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Griffin wants to control but Baal passes easily into half guard.
Baal trying to control the action but Griffin is working from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Griffin lands a jab to Baal's midsection.

I think Griffin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
