Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rory Margarito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Margarito might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Darude - Sandstorm. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Daniel Cesar and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Margarito but Margarito pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Silva fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Margarito misses with a looping right.
Margarito is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
It looks like Alderson Silva has been cut.
Margarito will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Margarito cracks Silva with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Silva looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Margarito finish him?

Rory Margarito seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Margarito as he avoids it easily.
Rory Margarito has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alderson Silva.
Margarito is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Silva.
Silva bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Margarito tries to bench press Silva off him but Silva keeps the position.
Silva has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Silva goes for an armbar but Margarito turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Margarito.
Margarito tries to stand but Silva is controlling from the bottom.

Margarito slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Silva throws his legs up looking for a submission but Margarito uses it to pass to side control.
Silva looks gassed!
Margarito is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Silva's shoulder. That is not cool.
Silva is trying to improve his position.
Silva tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Margarito presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Margarito stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Margarito drops Silva with a left right combo! Margarito follows him down to the ground into side control.
Silva is still in real trouble! Can Margarito finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva is not content to let Margarito control the position.
Silva seems to have recovered his senses.
Silva is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Margarito is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Silva tries to improve his position but instead Margarito has taken his back!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Silva tries to roll but Margarito sticks to his back.
Silva manages to reverse the position and now he's in Margarito's guard. Nice work there by Silva.
Silva throws a big right hand that misses.

Margarito is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Silva postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Margarito swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Silva throws a strike but Margarito rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Margarito keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Margarito throws a right hand that Silva ducks under and follows up with a left that Silva also avoids with ease.
Silva uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Margarito.
Silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Silva lands in his opponent's guard.

Silva is pushing down on Margarito's leg trying to pass to half guard. Margarito is fighting to maintain full guard but Silva has managed to sneak the leg through.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Margarito throws a series of strikes that have Silva backpedaling.
Margarito throws a right and a left that both miss.
Margarito pivots, looking for a leg kick but Silva is out of range and Margarito settles back down.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Margarito, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Margarito against the cage but Margarito circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Margarito scores with a jab to the body.
Margarito keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Margarito's corner calls for a 1-2. Margarito obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Margarito tries a low kick but Silva avoids it.
Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
