The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Sho. No joy for Gusman on that attempt.
Gusman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gusman takes one on the chin but seems OK.

It looks like Pablo Gusman has been cut.
Gusman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sho's waist but Sho gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gusman off to one side.
Sho throws a looping overhand right but Gusman ducks down to avoid it.
Sho looks to land a combination but Gusman avoids it well.
Gusman fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Fa Sho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pablo Gusman.

Gusman drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Gusman takes a little break here. Sho wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Gusman tries for a kimura but Sho is defending well.
Sho knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gusman on the ground.

Gusman is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sho has escaped the position, nice work there.

Gusman wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sho, who protects the arm well.

Gusman wants to control but Sho is keeping him busy.
Sho is trying to control Gusman's posture but Gusman avoids it.

Gusman looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Sho defending against the ground and pound.

Gusman has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Gusman misses with a combination
and Sho counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Gusman thinking.
Gusman looks gassed!
Sho just misses with a punch to the body.

Gusman fails with the takedown
and Sho counters with a stiff right hand.
Gusman keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sho.
Sho waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gusman.
Sho throws a hook but Gusman avoids it easily.
Sho jabbing away but nothing is landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Gusman shoots and misses
and Sho counters with a nice uppercut.
Gusman doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Sho scores with a counter punch that sends Gusman to the canvas! Sho smells blood - he's punishing Gusman with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Gusman has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
