Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between cody Jensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tri Angle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, cody Jensen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tri Angle!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Jensen.

Jensen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jensen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jensen is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Angle has escaped the position, nice work there.
Angle is trying to control Jensen's posture but Jensen avoids it.
Jensen postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Angle manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Angle trying to control here.
Angle pushes Jensen off looking to stand but Jensen dives back in and keeps control.
Angle is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Angle with a poor takedown

and Jensen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Angle's guard.
Jensen postures up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jensen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Angle working for a triangle but Jensen defends it easily.

Angle has his foot on Jensen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jensen works his way back into a safe position though.

Jensen drops back looking for a leg! Angle is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Angle manages to kick Jensen off! Jensen jumps back into Angle's guard.
Jensen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jensen content to stall in guard here.

Angle looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Jensen chips away with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jensen wants to control from the top but Angle keeps moving.

Jensen stands up and waves to Angle to follow him.

Jensen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

The strikes coming from Jensen are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Jensen remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Jensen wants to control but Angle is keeping him busy.
You can see the frustration on Angle's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Angle is trying to get back to half guard.
Jensen takes a little break here. Angle wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Jensen looks up at the clock and then as Angle takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jensen smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Jensen is trying to get an arm triangle but Angle is defending well.
Jensen tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Angle tries to escape but Jensen is in control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Jensen clinches with his opponent.

Jensen has Angle pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Jensen pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Angle tumbling to the mat - Jensen dives into Angle's guard.

Angle working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Jensen has passed into half guard!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Angle fails with the takedown

and Jensen counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Jensen seems to be working for a kimura but Angle defends the submission attempt.
Jensen tries to stand and escape but Angle is controlling the position.
Jensen is trying to control the action in half guard but Angle is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Angle has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jensen is working away from the top position though.

Angle pushes Jensen off and gets back to his feet.

Jensen shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Angle napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Angle can't do much from the bottom here.

Angle tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Angle misses with an elbow from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Angle looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Jensen has closed the distance and engaged Angle in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Angle gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jensen wants to take a breather but Angle is having none of it.

Jensen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Angle knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jensen seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Angle does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Angle has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Jensen. Oh but Angle has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Jensen goes limp - he's gone! Angle jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tri Angle!
