The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velez misses with an uppercut. Daddy saw that one coming.
Velez throws a lazy right hand but Daddy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Daddy lands with a kick to the temple. Velez shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Daddy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Velez blocks a head kick by Daddy.
A cross from Velez lands.
It looks like VooDoo Daddy has been cut.
Velez keeps the fight on the outside.
Daddy cracks Velez with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Daddy scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Velez doesn't seem bothered though.
Velez throws a looping overhand right but Daddy ducks down to avoid it.

Velez tries to score a body lock takedown but Daddy shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Velez tries to pull guard but Daddy holds him up against the cage and eventually Velez drops back down to his feet.

Velez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Daddy walks away with a smile on his face. Velez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Daddy lands a left hand that snaps the head of Velez backwards.

Velez wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Daddy has him pressed against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Daddy connects with a right hand. Velez shakes it off.

Velez tries to keep at a distance but Daddy has taken the fight into the clinch.
Velez is trying to trip Daddy. He has hold of a leg but Daddy is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Velez persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Velez looks to land a left hand but Daddy moved out of range nicely.

Velez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Daddy counters with a low kick, right behind Velez 's knee.
Nice straight punches there by Daddy. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Daddy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Velez is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Daddy's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Oh Velez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Daddy lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Velez backwards.
Daddy has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head that stumbles Velez - he's in trouble! Another big knee to the head from Daddy, and another! Velez is out on his feet - the ref jumps in to save him and ends the fight!
