The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Baresic as Penn shoots in.
Baresic misses with a head kick.
Penn fails with a takedown attempt.
Penn uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Baresic.
Penn tries to bum rush Baresic with a series of wild strikes but Baresic uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Horrible takedown by Penn or perhaps it was just good defense by Baresic which made him look bad.

Baresic tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Penn scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Penn shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Penn is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Baresic is just riding it out for now. Penn eventually gives up the hold.
Penn scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Penn tries to pass to full mount but Baresic defends it.
Penn looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Penn stops Baresic from getting back to his feet.
Penn not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Baresic is defending against the submission attempts here by Penn.

Penn is trying to control the action in half guard but Baresic is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Penn passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Baresic!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Penn throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Penn can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Baresic is looking to escape.

Penn looking to secure an arm triangle but Baresic defends it well.
Penn tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Penn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Baresic sprawls well initially but Penn persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Penn is working for a submission of some sort.
Penn is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Penn is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Penn is looking to pass Baresic's guard but actually Baresic recovers to full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Penn stands and throws Baresic's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Penn is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Baresic knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Penn tries to advance to mount but Baresic denies him.

Penn controls the position.
Penn passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Baresic!

Penn is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Baresic has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Baresic!

Penn has his foot on Baresic's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Baresic works his way back into a safe position though.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Baresic is posturing up here but Penn has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Baresic tries to roll out but it's too tight and Baresic has to tap! Slick submission there by Penn!
