And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Vanderbilt!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Lou da Vinci and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanderbilt shoots in and drives through. Garcia sprawls well.

Garcia shoots in and bounces Vanderbilt off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Garcia postures up in Vanderbilt's guard and throws a big left but Vanderbilt blocks it.
Vanderbilt keeping moving, preventing Garcia from controlling successfully.
Garcia stops Vanderbilt from standing up.
Vanderbilt being controlled here, momentarily.
Garcia wants to control from the top but Vanderbilt keeps moving.
Vanderbilt is trying to control the position but Garcia postures up.

Garcia thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Vanderbilt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Garcia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Garcia shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Garcia trying to control from half guard but Vanderbilt is working away.

Vanderbilt works his way to full guard. Good work.
Garcia pushes down on Vanderbilt's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Vanderbilt moves into full guard.
Vanderbilt is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Garcia trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Garcia slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Garcia looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Garcia tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Garcia is breathing heavily.
Garcia tries to move into full mount but can't pass Vanderbilt's legs.

Garcia working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Garcia trying to control the position but Vanderbilt is working away.

Garcia has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Vanderbilt is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Garcia yanks on the arm and Vanderbilt is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Garcia.
