Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Shin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Munoz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Shin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Munoz!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shin throws a one two combo.
Shin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Shin.
Munoz looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shin is fending him off so far but Munoz persists. Nope, Shin circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shin lands a jab to the nose.
Munoz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Munoz tries a head kick but it misses.
Shin throws a one two combo.
Shin scores with a one two! Munoz had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Munoz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shin but Shin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Michael Shin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Munoz.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Shin lands a glancing blow to the side of Munoz's head.
Munoz moves in looking to clinch but Shin pushes him off.

No luck for Munoz with that takedown attempt.

Munoz throws a sloppy head kick and Shin moves out of range easily.
Shin lands a slapping body shot.
Nice takedown defense from Shin. No joy for Munoz on that attempt.
Munoz tries to close the distance and clinch but Shin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nice sprawl there from Shin as Munoz shoots in.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Shin misses with a leg kick.
Mark Munoz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Munoz misses the jab.
Shin lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Shin.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Munoz shoots in for a double leg but Shin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Shin lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Shin misses with a two punch combination.

Munoz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Munoz prevents Shin from getting back to his feet.
Munoz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Shin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Shin on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shin tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Munoz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shin has escaped and now he's on top!
Munoz is breathing heavily.
Shin has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Munoz is proving hard to escape from.
Shin prevents Munoz from getting back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Munoz is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shin defends well.
Shin wants to get up but he can't break Munoz's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Munoz wants to sweep but no luck.
Shin wants to stand but Munoz is controlling his posture from full guard.

Munoz has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Shin doesn't defend quickly enough and Munoz has managed to lock this one up! Can Shin escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Munoz on a fantastic submission victory.
