The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Vries throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
De Vries blocks a head kick by Amazing.

Amazing instigates a clinch.
Amazing tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. De Vries smiles and moves away.
De Vries throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

De Vries shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. De Vries showed some decent athleticism there.
De Vries drops an elbow to the side of Amazing's head.
De Vries working Amazing over with strikes.
De Vries has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
De Vries wants to pass to mount but Amazing is defending the position.

De Vries tries to control but Amazing wriggling away.

De Vries is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Amazing is just riding it out for now. De Vries eventually gives up the hold.

De Vries has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Amazing tries to lock up and control but De Vries gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
De Vries prevents Amazing from getting the reversal.

De Vries gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
A head kick from De Vries lands but Amazing takes it in his stride.
De Vries tries to clinch up

and Amazing counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

De Vries wants to improve his position but Amazing is controlling well.

De Vries is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
De Vries throws a head kick but Amazing moves out of range.

De Vries is trying to trip Amazing. He has hold of a leg but Amazing is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. De Vries persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
