Heandler has chosen My time is now as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jared Bass has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bass shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Heandler manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Heandler is trying to keep Bass in close.

Heandler looking for subs off his back but Bass has passed one foot through into half guard.

Bass looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Heandler missing with punches from the bottom.
Bass has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Bass goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Heandler is on top in guard.
Bass keeping moving, preventing Heandler from controlling successfully.
Heandler is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Heandler has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Bass is proving hard to escape from.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Heandler trying to control but Bass is working from the bottom.
Heandler stopping the sweep attempt from Bass.
Bass keeping full guard, as Heandler tries to pass.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bass is pulling down on Heandler's head to control his posture.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Bass is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Heandler knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Heandler is letting Bass control him for a moment.

Bass is working to tighten is grip on Heandler's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Heandler has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Bass is really squeezing tight and eventually Heandler passes out! Bass breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
