The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monk takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The crowd cheers as Pirolla lands an impressive looking overhand right. Monk doesn't seem phased though.
A nice combination there by Pirolla.
Pirolla bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Monk's head.

Pirolla scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Oh Monk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Everton Pirolla seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pirolla misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Monk seems to have got his legs back now.
Pirolla stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pirolla wants it to stay on the feet.
Pirolla takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Pirolla drops Monk with a beautiful combination! Monk stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Pirolla is looking for the KO!

Pirolla closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Monk! Pirolla dives in looking to finish! Monk is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
