PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Chambers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viktor Mykolaiv (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chambers comes into the arena with Rock Superstar by Cypress Hill blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chambers shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mykolaiv's guard.

Mykolaiv is looking for a triangle but Chambers pushes his legs off easily.
Chambers postures up in Mykolaiv's guard and throws a big left but Mykolaiv blocks it.

Mykolaiv looking for a guillotine here but Chambers defends easily.
Chambers has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Mykolaiv working for a triangle but Chambers defends it easily.

Mykolaiv escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chambers gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mykolaiv looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Chambers chips away with some ground and pound.
Chambers scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Chambers is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Mykolaiv preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chambers landing some decent shots from guard.
Chambers throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mykolaiv works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Mykolaiv had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Chambers defends it easily.
Chambers lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Chambers with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Chambers trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Chambers got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mykolaiv has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chambers has managed to get both his arms back between Mykolaiv's legs - danger averted.

Chambers is sitting in close to Mykolaiv's body. Mykolaiv has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Chambers is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Chambers is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Mykolaiv.
