Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roy Bent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jussi Kantola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bent kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Dropkick Murphys - Im shipping up to Boston. Roy Bent has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roy Bent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jussi Kantola!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bent moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Bent decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Bent throws a strike but Kantola avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Bent stays in close to Kantola's body and controls the position.
Kantola is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bent trying to control the position from guard on top but Kantola is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bent is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kantola is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Kantola is trying to keep Bent in close.
Bent slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Kantola tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bent trying to control but Kantola is working from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Bent counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Kantola is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Bent wants to control from the top but Kantola keeps moving.

Kantola escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bent gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Kantola is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bent throws and elbow that misses. Kantola uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bent's guard. Nice move by Kantola!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kantola accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bent is controlling Kantola's posture.
Bent keeping moving, preventing Kantola from controlling successfully.

Bent is pulling down on Kantola's head. It's preventing any offense from Kantola, at least for the moment.

Bent has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kantola can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bent shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kantola is trying to defend but Bent finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kantola is looking for a kimura here.

Kantola is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bent tries to roll over but Kantola keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Bent's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Kantola lands a left and a right that send Bent crashing to the mat, dazed. Kantola thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Roy Bent has been cut.

Kantola manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bent manages to get himself to full guard.

Bent has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kantola off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

so Bent counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kantola manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Bent is in all sorts of trouble here.

Kantola shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bent but Bent pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kantola lands a head kick. Bent smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Bent avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kantola tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bent swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bent takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Kantola fails to land the takedown.
Jussi Kantola has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kantola looks for a takedown but Bent sprawls well.
Roy Bent is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Bent misses with a double jab.

Jussi Kantola comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Bent has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
