PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Roger Amin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DJ Ocsar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). DJ Ocsar told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roger Amin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, DJ Ocsar!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ocsar misses with the combination.

Amin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Amin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ocsar is keeping the position for now.
Ocsar wants to sweep but no luck.
Ocsar doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Amin's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Amin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Amin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ocsar's guard.
Ocsar is trying to stand.
Amin is keen to just control but Ocsar is a slippery customer.
Amin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ocsar is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Ocsar is looking to escape.
Amin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Amin is looking to take a break and control but Ocsar is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ocsar is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Amin pulls his head out easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ocsar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Amin's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Amin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ocsar is one step ahead there.
Ocsar lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Amin wants to stand but Ocsar is controlling the position.
Ocsar advances position into side control!
Ocsar is looking to take a break and control but Amin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ocsar tries to move into full mount but can't pass Amin's legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Amin can't do much from the bottom here.
Ocsar controls the position.
Amin manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Amin is breathing heavily.
Amin wants to get back to full guard.
Amin is trying to stand back up but Ocsar is controlling him

Ocsar stands up out of the half guard.

Ocsar darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Amin wants to improve his position but Ocsar is controlling well.

Ocsar is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Amin is just riding it out for now. Ocsar eventually gives up the hold.
Amin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ocsar is working away from the top position though.

Ocsar has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Amin defend it? Ocsar steps over the head and cranks it - Amin is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Ocsar!
