Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Brinehall!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Dean!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brinehall tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Brinehall instigates a clinch.
Dean looking for a takedown.
Brinehall tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dean just stands there and leans against the ropes.
Brinehall prevents the takedown attempt.
Brinehall tries to break free but Dean pushes him back against the ropes.

Dean escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brinehall shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dean defends it nicely.
Brinehall tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dean sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Brinehall somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Brinehall. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dean scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Brinehall struggling a bit here.
Dean is looking to take a break and control but Brinehall is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brinehall is trying to control Dean's posture but Dean avoids it.
Dean controlling from side mount.
Brinehall taking punishment in the form of punches.

Dean is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Brinehall is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Dean decides to stand up, so the ref orders Brinehall to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brinehall has his takedown stuffed

so Dean counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Brinehall is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Brinehall is trying to control the position but Dean postures up.

Brinehall has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Dean is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Brinehall.
Brinehall is breathing heavily.
Brinehall is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Dean is controlling him well.

Dean has an Americana. Brinehall didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Dean is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Dean hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Stephen Dean!
