PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Lunar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pierre LePew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lunar's entrance music is Seperate Ways by Journey. A fine choice. LePew is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by It's Raining Men. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lucas Lunar!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pierre LePew!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LePew misses with a looping left.
LePew looks to throw the jab but Lunar is out of range.
LePew misses the jab.
A swing and a miss from Lunar.
Pierre LePew seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
LePew throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lunar's waist but Lunar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing LePew off to one side.
Lunar connects with a nice looking jab.
Lunar steps to the side to avoid the strikes from LePew.
LePew tries a head kick but it misses.

LePew shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than LePew was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
LePew thowing shots but they're missing.
LePew has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
LePew can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lunar is looking to escape.
Lunar is trying to escape the mount.

Lunar is squirming around, avoiding LePew's attempts to control the action.

LePew wants to take his opponent's back but Lunar doesn't allow it.
Lunar wants to control but LePew is having none of it.

LePew is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lunar to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lunar shrugs it off.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lunar is trying to escape the mount.
LePew controlling the pace for now.
Lunar wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by LePew.

Lunar has given up his back here.
Lunar rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
LePew passes the guard and advances to mount!
LePew sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
LePew avoids the attempt from Lunar to control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lunar just holding on.
LePew trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
LePew takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Lunar wants to hold on but LePew pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pierre LePew dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


LePew misses with a head kick.
LePew tests Lunar's chin there with a solid looking shot.
LePew dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
LePew throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
LePew on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
LePew lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Lunar misses with a kick to the body.
Lunar checks the leg kick nicely there.
LePew fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lunar avoids it really well and circles away.
Lunar steps to the side to avoid the strikes from LePew.
LePew cracks Lunar with an open hand slap.
Lunar avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
A lazy left from LePew finds it's target.
LePew on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Lunar. Lunar obviously looking to wear him down.
LePew throws a series of punches but Lunar avoids them all with ease.

Lunar throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Good shot there by LePew.
Lunar takes one to the side of the head.
Lunar lands a right hook to the body.
Lunar throws a jab but it's blocked by LePew.
LePew misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A head kick misses from Lunar.
LePew shoots in but Lunar avoids the takedown attempt easily.

A thudding body kick lands there by Lunar!
LePew might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
LePew is breathing heavily.
Lunar slips a jab and a cross from LePew.

Lucas Lunar is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Good exchange - LePew coming out on top.
Lunar is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lunar moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Lunar thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on LePew if he has to take too many more of those.

Lunar scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Lunar lands a straight punch to the body, keeping LePew at a distance.
Lunar throws the kick towards the body but LePew avoids it.

Lunar pulls out of a head kick attempt.
LePew uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lunar.
LePew looks to score with a jab to the body but Lunar is just out of range.
LePew lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lunar circles away quickly and effectively.
LePew throws a shot from downtown. Lunar moves away and avoids it.
LePew throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
LePew throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
LePew dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
LePew rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lunar moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
LePew throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
LePew shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lunar pinned against the cage. Lunar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lucas Lunar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pierre LePew.
Lunar is looking to slow LePew down with leg kicks.

LePew takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Lunar throws out a loose jab but LePew uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lunar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
LePew just misses with a punch to the body.
Lunar lands with a hook. LePew tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


It looks like Pierre LePew has been cut.
Lunar feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to LePew's calf.
Lunar scores with a nice body kick.
LePew takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Lunar tries a head kick but it misses.
Lunar blocks a jab.
Lunar fakes the leg kick and cracks LePew in the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lunar lands with a kick to the temple. LePew shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Lunar lands a head kick. LePew smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
LePew needs to keep his hands up - Lunar had a free shot at his head there.
Lunar lands with a slapping head kick.


LePew is rocked!


That has opened up Pierre LePew's cut even more.
Lunar walks forward and throws a big overhand right! LePew drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Lunar swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from LePew's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:17 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lucas Lunar!
