Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Spazzy Magee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy NoMates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Billy NoMates has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
NoMates misses with a looping left.

Magee shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Magee showed some decent athleticism there.

NoMates manages to get to full guard.

Magee drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Magee jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

NoMates is pulling down on Magee's head to control his posture.

Magee seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but NoMates does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Magee is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, NoMates has managed to free his arm - good work.
Magee blocks the strikes from NoMates.
NoMates is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Magee's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Magee's back!
NoMates doesn't have the hooks in and Magee manages to turn into his guard.

NoMates tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Magee swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
NoMates misses with a head kick.
NoMates will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

NoMates misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Magee shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Magee jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but NoMates manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Magee tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Magee has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
NoMates is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Magee has just dragged him back down to the mat.

NoMates is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Magee is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Magee goes for an armbar but NoMates turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from NoMates.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Magee instigates a clinch.
NoMates prevents the takedown attempt.
NoMates wants to break free but Magee has control.

Magee gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Magee drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but NoMates manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Magee has NoMates in his guard.
NoMates must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as NoMates accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
NoMates is in close to Magee's body, working some short punches and elbows.
NoMates throws a strike but Magee rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

NoMates is edging up against the ropes. He's using the ropes to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Magee has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. NoMates is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

NoMates tries to break the clinch but Magee is controlling the position.
Magee drops down looking for an ankle pick but NoMates pulls his leg out and moves away.
Magee fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but NoMates avoids it really well and circles away.
Magee dives in and grabs NoMates's left leg, looking for a takedown. NoMates pushes down on Magee's head and hops out.

Magee fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Magee drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Magee has NoMates pressed against the ropes, preventing NoMates from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
NoMates wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Magee is trying to work for a single leg takedown but NoMates pulls him back up using the underhooks.

NoMates breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

No joy there for NoMates, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Magee counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in NoMates's guard now.

Magee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. NoMates swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Magee sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed NoMates's guard.

NoMates is pushing Magee's head away, looking to escape. Magee manages to hold on to the position though.
NoMates takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

NoMates is bucking up trying to escape but Magee cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Magee wants to control the pace but NoMates is squirming around nicely.
Magee has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of NoMates's face.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Magee is landing with some decent strikes but NoMates is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Spazzy Magee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
NoMates is in a horrible position here. Magee smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
NoMates is trying to get to the ropes to help him get back to his feet.
