PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jordan Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gelath Patriansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Coleman might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to cryin like a bitch. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gelath Patriansen!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Patriansen.

Coleman feints and as Patriansen raises his hands in defense, Coleman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Patriansen looking for a guillotine here but Coleman defends easily.
Patriansen wants to sweep but no luck.
Coleman looking to pass the guard.
Patriansen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Coleman. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Patriansen wants to sweep here but Coleman controlling him for the moment.

Coleman stands and throws Patriansen's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Patriansen manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Coleman performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Coleman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Patriansen defends it well.
Coleman content to control rather than advance.

Coleman prevents Patriansen from improving his position.
Coleman works his way into side control.

You can see the frustration on Patriansen's face as Coleman controls the position.
Patriansen is trying to control Coleman's posture but Coleman avoids it.
Patriansen is looking for a sweep.

Coleman stands up.

and Coleman counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Coleman slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Coleman decides to stand back up.

Coleman feints and as Patriansen raises his hands in defense, Coleman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Coleman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Coleman trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Coleman drops back looking for a leg! Patriansen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Patriansen manages to kick Coleman off! Coleman jumps back into Patriansen's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jordan Coleman dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Patriansen circles away from the clinch attempt.

Coleman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Coleman moves into full mount!
Coleman has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Patriansen's face.
Patriansen is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Coleman breaks from Patriansen's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Coleman fails to move to back control.

Coleman controlling from the full mount.
Coleman has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Coleman avoids the attempt from Patriansen to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Patriansen wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Patriansen is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Coleman has managed to slip his arm under Patriansen's chin. This could be all over... yep, Patriansen is tapping out! Submission win for Coleman.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jordan Coleman!
