Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Money (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jackson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Joker & The Thief. The key to victory for Jon Jackson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay Money!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson misses with a kick to the body.
Jackson tries to clinch but Money is having none of it.
Jackson tries to clinch up but Money circles away and keeps his distance.
Jackson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Money stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Jon Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Jackson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jackson looks for the body kick but Money saw that one coming.
Money bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jackson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Jackson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Money looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jackson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Money knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Money is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jackson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jackson's back!

Even with his hooks in, Money manages to miss with strikes from the back.

Money is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Jackson knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Jackson for a finish.

Money is persistently looking for the submission but Jackson is defending it well.

Jackson is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Jackson turns into Money and is now in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Money drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Money jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Money is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Jackson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Money is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Jackson.

Jackson tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Money counters with a head kick. That will keep Jackson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Jackson moves into range and clinches up with Money.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Money in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
Jackson lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Money gets control of Jackson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Money will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Jackson has gone for a leg lock! Money slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jackson's guard.

Jackson is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Money has taken his back.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Money is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Jackson has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Money has good solid back control here.
Money misses with a punch to the head.
Jackson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Money's guard. Nice work there by Jackson.

Jackson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Money is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Money has escaped and now he's on top!

Money wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.

Money thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Money gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Money wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Jackson throws a jab but it's blocked by Money.
Jay Money is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Money tries to clinch up but Jackson circles away and keeps his distance.
Jackson lands a nice looking body shot.

and Money holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Money pulls guard.
Jackson won't allow Money to sweep him here.
Money manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Jackson holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Money tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Jay Money showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jackson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Money is fending him off so far but Jackson persists. Nope, Money circles away and we're back to standing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Money not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Well, if Money is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Money is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jackson is just riding it out for now. Money eventually gives up the hold.

Money creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Jackson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Money looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Jackson tries to buck Money off but Money is having none of it.
Jackson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Money's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Well Money has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
