PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brian Mac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nixon Frost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frost has chosen Boom as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Brian Mac had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian Mac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nixon Frost!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Roberts and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Frost.

Mac shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Frost has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mac can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Mac is working Frost over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Frost is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Mac shoots in for a double leg but Frost sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Frost not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mac is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Frost is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mac shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Frost counters with a nice leg kick.

Frost moves into the clinch.
Mac has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Frost is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Mac shoots in for a takedown but Frost shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Mac chips away with some ground and pound.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mac accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Frost tries to bum rush Mac with a series of wild strikes but Mac uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Frost stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Frost wants it to stay on the feet.

Mac closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mac lands in his opponent's guard.

Nixon Frost has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Frost scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Mac changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Frost looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mac has control of an arm but Frost manages to advance to Mac's back!

Brian Mac is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Mac breaks Frost's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mac, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
