Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Blik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arilius Maximus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blik closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Blik lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blik missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Blik throwing strikes from guard but Maximus blocks nicely.
Blik tries to free his leg and advance position but Maximus is retaining full guard.

Blik drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Maximus dives on top into guard.

Blik is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Maximus defends well.
Blik manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Blik goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Maximus turns into him and now he's in Blik's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Maximus won't allow Blik to sweep him here.

Blik looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Maximus wants to control from the top but Blik keeps moving.

Blik is looking for a triangle but Maximus pushes his legs off easily.

Blik had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Maximus defends it easily.
Blik is breathing heavily.

Blik goes for an armbar but Maximus turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Maximus.

Maximus avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Blik isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Maximus stacks Blik on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Maximus!
Blik is looking to reverse the position.
Blik sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Maximus prevents Blik from improving his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Blik's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Maximus swinging wildly here.
Maximus lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Blik circles away quickly and effectively.
Maximus connects with a jab.

Blik drives through with a takedown into guard.

Blik is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Maximus is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Maximus has escaped and now he's on top!
Blik lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Maximus!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blik works his way to his opponent's back.
Maximus is breathing heavily.

Blik connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Maximus to escape the position.
Maximus wants to control his opponent's hands but Blik gets his hands free.
Maximus covering up well under a series of strikes from Blik.
Frank Blik overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Blik patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Blik is looking for the choke from the back position but Maximus is controlling his hands well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Blik working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Maximus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blik. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Blik is cranking Maximus's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Maximus! He's tightened the choke and Maximus is tapping out!
