The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammett will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Giles thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Hammett if he has to take too many more of those.

Hammett throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Giles was covering up waiting for the punch and Hammett finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Hammett is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Hammett is looking for a kimura but Giles is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hammett to get the leverage.

Hammett is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Giles is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
