The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balboa tries to bum rush Schnitz with a series of wild strikes but Schnitz uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Balboa throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Schnitz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Balboa circles away.
Schnitz fails with a takedown attempt.
Balboa misses with the combination.
Schnitz avoids the head kick by Balboa.
Balboa throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Schnitz.
Balboa digs a good body shot into Schnitz's ribs.
Crunch! Balboa slams his shin into Schnitz's torso.
Balboa throws a right and a left that both miss.
Schnitz fails with the takedown.

Schnitz closes this distance looking for a takedown but Balboa circles away.

Balboa lands a left and a right that send Schnitz crashing to the mat, dazed. Balboa thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Schnitzer Schnitz has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Balboa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Schnitz circles away quickly and effectively.
Balboa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Schnitz ducks under a wild hook from Balboa.
Schnitz fails with a takedown attempt.
A combination from Balboa does no damage.

Balboa misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Balboa throws a nice looking combination but Schnitz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Balboa throws a series of punches but Schnitz avoids them all with ease.
Schnitz walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Balboa takes a swing at Schnitz's ribcage but misses.

Schnitz feints and as Balboa raises his hands in defense, Schnitz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Balboa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Schnitz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Schnitz postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Balboa is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Schnitz, into his guard.

Schnitz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Balboa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Schnitz is tightening it up a little... Balboa has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Balboa reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Balboa taps out! nice BJJ there by Schnitz!
