The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gunn drops Rophilia with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Rophilia looks back up at him and smiles so Gunn waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

It looks like Nick Rophilia has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rophilia defending well as Gunn loads up on a big left hand.

Gunn swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Gunn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rophilia. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Gunn is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rophilia.

Rophilia drops his hands momentarily and Gunn takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Gunn cracks Rophilia with a right hand to the side of the head.

Rophilia walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Rophilia slips under a jab.
Gunn looks to land a right hand but Rophilia moved out of range.

Nick Rophilia's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Rophilia tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gunn swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gunn fails to land with a series of punches.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rophilia escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gunn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gunn is looking to stand up but Rophilia won't let him.
