Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andre Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fernando Sucre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sucre has chosen Capital Punishment as his entrance music. Fernando Sucre is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andre Rua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fernando Sucre!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua loads up on a big right hand but Sucre slips the punch.
Sucre rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rua moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rua throws the left hand but Sucre avoids the punch easily.
Sucre circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sucre avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sucre misses with the combination.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rua looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Sucre bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Sucre wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rua, who protects the arm well.
Rua tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Sucre is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rua knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Rua tries to buck Sucre off but Sucre is having none of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Sucre goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Rua has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sucre but great work by Rua.

Rua decides to stand back up.
Rua moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Rua misses with a series of wild punches.
Rua avoids a punch combination nicely.
Fernando Sucre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rua stuffs the takedown.
Sucre looks gassed!

Sucre closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sucre lands in his opponent's guard.
Rua controls Sucre momentarily but Sucre frees himself.
Rua thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Sucre feints and as Rua raises his hands in defense, Sucre changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rua lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sucre's sensitive parts.
Rua swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Sucre fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rua sprawls well initially but Sucre persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Sucre is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rua defends it well.
Rua is staying active underneath Sucre, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Sucre tries to free his leg and advance position but Rua is retaining full guard.

Sucre drops back looking for a leg! Rua is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rua manages to kick Sucre off! Sucre jumps back into Rua's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Rua stuffs the takedown.

Andre Rua is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rua throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Sucre counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Rua working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sucre doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sucre manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rua is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Sucre is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Rua has managed to free his arm - good work.
Sucre is looking to take a break and control but Rua is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Fernando Sucre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Rua has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Sucre is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Rua.

Sucre goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Rua rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Sucre's guard! Nice work there by Rua!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Sucre is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Rua got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sucre has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rua has managed to get both his arms back between Sucre's legs - danger averted.
Rua tries to stand but Sucre is controlling from the bottom.

Sucre is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rua defends well.
Rua slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sucre is trying to get back to half guard.

Fernando Sucre comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Sucre winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
