Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Yang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson Silva has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mickey Yang's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yang tries to clinch up.
Silva avoids the head kick by Yang.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Yang sprawls well. Yang wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.

Silva shoots for a double leg takedown but Yang sprawls well. He's pushed Silva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Silva has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Yang is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Silva wants to get back to striking at distance but Yang won't allow it.

Yang pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

so Silva counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Silva stands up and waves to Yang to follow him.
Yang misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Silva takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up but Yang swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Silva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Yang pinned against the cage. Yang gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Yang closes the distance but Silva moves to the side

and Silva counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Silva decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Silva throws a head kick but Yang moves out of range.
Yang tries to clinch but Silva moves out of range.

Silva misses with a jab, cross combination.
Yang throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Silva instigates a clinch.

Yang breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Silva shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Yang is trying to defend but Silva finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Yang is trying to escape back to his feet but Silva uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Silva is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Yang can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Yang's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Silva connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

You get the feeling that Yang really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Yang's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
