The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
D moves away from the strike by Pekkarinen.
D misses with an uppercut.
Pekkarinen tries to bum rush D with a series of wild strikes but D uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

D throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

D throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pekkarinen sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Pekkarinen connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Pekkarinen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with D, pushing him back against the cage.
Pekkarinen is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
D tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Pekkarinen avoids it.
D looking for a takedown.
Pekkarinen is looking to break free of the clinch but D has double underhooks.
Pekkarinen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
