The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azevedo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
van der Burgt dodges the punch combination from Azevedo.
van der Burgt ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A telegraphed right hand from Azevedo misses the target.
van der Burgt moves in looking to clinch but Azevedo pushes him off.
A big left from Azevedo misses.
Azevedo misses with an uppercut.
van der Burgt avoids the head kick by Azevedo.
van der Burgt misses with a wild body shot.
Azevedo lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
van der Burgt throws a right hand that Azevedo ducks under and follows up with a left that Azevedo also avoids with ease.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Azevedo is trying to work for a sweep but van der Burgt has mounted him!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
