Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Swain sprawls well. Swain wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bear gets slowly back to his feet.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Swain wants to free his trapped foot but Bear is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Bear had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Swain defends it easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bear with a poor takedown

and Swain counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Bear controls Swain momentarily but Swain frees himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Swain postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bear is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Swain, into his guard.

Bear drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Swain manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bear has Swain in his guard.

Bear is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Swain defends well.

Bear regains half guard there - taking advantage of Swain's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
