Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dwayne Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barbados Slim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Dwayne Johnson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dwayne Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Barbados Slim!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Slim pinned against the cage. Slim gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Johnson is breathing heavily.
Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown. Slim tries to sprawl out of it but Johnson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Slim manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Horrible takedown by Johnson or perhaps it was just good defense by Slim which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dwayne Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Slim has managed to clinch.
Johnson gets underhooks to prevent Slim's takedown attempt.
Johnson keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Slim's efforts to push away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slim prevents a takedown attempt there.

Slim has Johnson pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Slim pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Johnson tumbling to the mat - Slim dives into Johnson's guard.

Slim is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barbados Slim dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Slim shoots in and bounces Johnson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Slim throwing strikes but missing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slim controls from within his opponent's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Despite being in the dominant position, Barbados Slim just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Slim gets the takedown into side control.
Slim scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Johnson to see if he's OK.
Slim controls the position.
Johnson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Slim on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johnson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Slim connects with a decent elbow.
Slim controls the position from side control.
Slim grinds an elbow into Johnson's temple.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Slim takes a little break here. Johnson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barbados Slim showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Slim feints and as Johnson raises his hands in defense, Slim changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Johnson can't keep his opponent in guard - Slim advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Slim drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Slim as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Johnson screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Slim! Nice submission victory there!
