Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matt McVeigh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nuckin Futz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Anthony Taglia and Dean Styles.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McVeigh shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Futz as he avoids it easily.

McVeigh gets a clinch.

Futz gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, McVeigh regains guard.

Futz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McVeigh swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McVeigh is wriggling around trying to escape.

Futz is landing with some decent strikes but McVeigh is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

McVeigh holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Futz tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
McVeigh seems to have got his legs back now.
McVeigh tries to hold on but Futz postures up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McVeigh has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Futz is working away from the top position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Futz shoots for a double leg takedown but McVeigh sprawls well. He's pushed Futz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Futz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Futz is looking to sweep but instead, McVeigh has passed into half guard.
Futz is staying active underneath McVeigh, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Nuckin Futz dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

McVeigh is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

McVeigh avoids the body shot from Futz.
McVeigh changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Futz tries to avoid it but McVeigh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Futz to the ground. Futz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nuckin Futz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McVeigh fails with a takedown attempt.

McVeigh wants to control from the top but Futz keeps moving.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McVeigh is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Futz has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. McVeigh is looking to defend but Futz has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for McVeigh! Futz pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, McVeigh taps out and this one is all over!
