Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gerald Young I (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan McDonnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McDonnell has closed the distance and engaged Young I in a clinch.

Young I escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Young I lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

and Young I counters with a takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McDonnell is pushing Young I's head away, looking to escape. Young I manages to hold on to the position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Young I works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
The strikes coming from Young I are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Young I is putting a hurting on McDonnell here, landing some big shots from side control.

Young I drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Young I jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

McDonnell pushes Young I off and scrambles back to his feet.

Young I is trying to work for a single leg takedown but McDonnell pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Young I is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. McDonnell can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

You get the feeling that McDonnell really doesn't like being in this position too much.
