Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tubby Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lenwe Elendil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tubby Hayes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lenwe Elendil!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elendil connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Lenwe Elendil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Elendil misses with a jab, cross combination.
Elendil tries to close the distance and clinch but Hayes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Tubby Hayes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lenwe Elendil.

Hayes is pressed up against the cage. Elendil has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hayes down to the mat. Hayes avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Hayes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Elendil looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Hayes content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Hayes misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Hayes's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Hayes looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Elendil is avoiding damage well.
Hayes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hayes is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Elendil will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Hayes has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Elendil throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Hayes seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Hayes looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Elendil with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Hayes closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hayes connects with a nice short shot to Elendil's temple.

Hayes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Elendil is just riding it out for now. Hayes eventually gives up the hold.

Elendil wants to control but Hayes is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hayes looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Hayes takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Elendil pushes Hayes off looking to stand but Hayes dives back in and keeps control.

A frustrated look appears on Elendil's face as he tries to break the clinch.

It looks like Lenwe Elendil has been cut.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!



Hayes throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Elendil was covering up waiting for the punch and Hayes finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Tubby Hayes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Hayes throws and elbow that misses. Elendil uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hayes's guard. Nice move by Elendil!

Hayes is pulling down on Elendil's head to control his posture.
Hayes bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Elendil's guard.
Hayes not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Elendil is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Elendil takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hayes won't allow Elendil to sweep him here.

Hayes connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Elendil some visible discomfort.

Lenwe Elendil has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Hayes has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
