Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wanderlei Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Madd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wanderlei Rua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luke Madd!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Rua with that takedown attempt.
Rua shoots in looking for a takedown. Madd tries to sprawl out of it but Rua keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Madd manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rua changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Madd tries to avoid it but Rua manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Madd to the ground. Madd escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wanderlei Rua. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Madd shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rua is trying to defend but Madd finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Madd is trying to control the action in half guard but Rua is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Madd scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Madd thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Madd thows a huge punch but Rua dodges it nicely.
Madd seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Madd misses with a head shot. Rua uses the momentum to regain guard.
Madd throws and elbow that misses. Rua uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Madd's guard. Nice move by Rua!
Madd controls Rua momentarily but Rua frees himself.
Rua drops back, looking for a kneebar! Madd looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Madd looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Madd!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Madd tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Madd fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Madd scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Rua to see if he's OK.
Madd misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Rua on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Madd looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Rua is avoiding damage well.
Madd creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Rua sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Madd has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Rua is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Madd yanks on the arm and Rua is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Madd.
